Garden club holiday bash
GARDEN CLUB GATHERING Food captains (from left) Suzy Godwin and Melanie Whatley and home hostess Karen Beach made sure the Memorial Drive Garden Club holiday lunch was festive, fun and “foodful.”
The annual holiday party for the Memorial Drive Garden Club at Karen Beach’s was spectacularly decorated for the Christmas season with a collection of Santas and white and gold décor. Melanie Whatley and Suzy Godwin, in her ugly but pretty sweater, led the food team. Bogie and Cooper, Karen’s French bulldogs, were hoping for a plate too. Mala Salvador and Susanna Jeu greeted the partiers. Sharing holiday stories were Jana Stifel, Patsy Andrews, Barbara Isham, Susan Braden, Beverly Mattern, Maureen Berry, Melanie Carter, Barbara Files and Laurie Sorsby. Instead of the traditional gift swap, the gals brought checks for City ArtWorks to provide scholarships for children who can’t afford art classes.
