Everyone’s invited to Sprint for Life, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s annual 5k run/walk. The family-fun event will take place on May 2 in the Texas Medical Center. Kim Podraza is a 30-year ovarian cancer survivor and advocate. She has been instrumental with organizing corporate teams to participate in Sprint for Life to raise funds and increase awareness about ovarian cancer. Peggy Port is an eight-year ovarian cancer survivor and a talented local artist. She and her husband, Allan, help raise funds for research and to increase awareness about ovarian cancer. Judy Brookman is an 11-year ovarian-cancer survivor who enjoys spending time with her family. The 5k run/walk is the largest event fundraiser for ovarian cancer in our community. See sprintforlife.com.
